FABLES AUDIO

An MP3 player provided an audio context for each installation space.

The first track reflected the first room in the exhibition, a museum space displaying works from the T.H. Thomas archive. The track features the voices of academics, researchers and museum staff discussing the life and times of T.H. Thomas. (Interviewees: Andrew Haycock, Christabel Hutchings, Cindy Howells, Dr Tim Rich, Emily O’Reilly, Jennifer Gallichan, Lowri Jenkins, Dr Peter Sedgwick, Tom Sharpe.)

Subsequent tracks increase the intensity of experience. The audio works as a soundtrack to the installation and to the films screened within it.

On a more experiential level the purpose of the audio is to isolate the viewer from other people in the gallery, to mirror the fact that ultimately we face the deep questions of existence alone.

There are clips of the audio on the short video on Fables home page.
