I was invited to participate in the Glasgow International by, "designing a flag which considers your identity as an artist within the wider communities, locations and situations that you identify with. "

I wondered, what is community anyway? A question which I frequently ask myself when working on projects . People say ....'the community think this thing .....or they think that thing...'. I always wonder how that one particular view point has been gleaned, who this ‘community’ with their homogenous voice? I have never met them or been part of one.

I designed a flag which represents the thing which connects many of us to a sense of community… 1000’s of hard drives…. Whether your community is local - geographically or local in terms of shared ideas it is often these mechanisms which help us to communicate.

and so that was my flag!
