Lounge / Bar was a site-specific piece that sought to wedge itself firmly in the folklore of Chapter Art Centre. For many years Chapter has housed a minimal, acoustically challenged and uncomfortable bar area. For Ffresh 3 this space became a comfortable lounge bar simulating a traditional local pub complete with stuffed ferret and old photo’s.
The fact of simulating a pub environment in an art centre bar also sought to raise questions of class, gender and the museification of traditional lifestyles.
